Peal Out the Watchword Peal = lit. the sounding of a bell; to shout or cry loudly Watchword= a slogan or motto used among members of the same society, class, or group; a word or motto that embodies a principle or guide to action of an individual or group. William Wallace in “Braveheart”- “Freedom!” Author: Frances Havergal (1836-1879) “”I gave My life for thee”, “Is It for me dear Savior” This hymn was made the song of the YWCA in 1887

Peal Out the Watchword “Truehearted, Whole-Hearted!” Emphasis of this song understood by looking at omitted verses: Half-hearted, false-hearted! Heed we the warning! Only the whole can be perfectly true; Bring the whole offering, all timid thought scorning, True-hearted only, if whole hearted, too.

Peal Out the Watchword “Truehearted, Whole-Hearted!” It is an ongoing work to live up to our cry! Truehearted! Savior, Thou knowest our story, Weak are the hearts that we lay at Thy feet, Sinful and treacherous! Yet, for Thy glory, Heal them, and cleanse them from sin and deceit.

Peal Out the Watchword “Truehearted, Whole-Hearted!” May we always sound the cry! Sisters, dear sisters, the call is resounding, Will ye not echo the silver refrain, Mighty and sweet, and in gladness abounding?- “True-hearted, whole-hearted!” ringing again. Jesus is with us, His rest is before us, Brightly His standard is waving above! Sisters dear sisters, in gathering chorus, Peal out the watchword of courage and love!
