1. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SUBSTANCE ABUSE AWARENESS POSTER CONTEST Eligibility  The contest is open to all boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 14 years old. Rules and Regulations  Each poster must be done on 11x17 Inch paper  Each poster must reflect either the theme of Alcohol Awareness & Abuse OR Drug Awareness and Abuse  Each contestant may submit only one entry  Each poster must be accompanied by a Substance Abuse Poster Entry Form signed by the parent/guardian  The name of the contestant must be printed on the back of the poster

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SUBSTANCE ABUSE AWARENESS POSTER CONTEST Categories 8-11 Year Old Alcohol Awareness and Abuse 12-14 Year Old Alcohol Awareness and Abuse 8-11 Year Old Drug Awareness and Abuse 12-14 Year Old Drug Awareness and Abuse  There will be one winner in each category at in the Council, Area, State and International contests  Each contestant will compete against contestants in their same age group Judging 100 point System 30 PointsSlogan - How Clearly is the theme presented? 30 PointsVisuals - How well do the visuals convey the message? 40 PointsOverall Impact - How effective is the Poster in capturing your attention and causing you to reflect on the topic?

3. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SUBSTANCE ABUSE AWARENESS POSTER CONTEST How to Conduct a Council-Level Contest o Organize your program and prepare to implement your plans early in the Fraternal Year. o Publicize and conduct program through public and private schools. o Publicize Program through local Church and council bulletins. o Publicize program through CCD Programs and Youth Organizations. o Order Substance Abuse Poster Contest Kits Online Or by mail at the beginning of the fraternal year using Form SA-KIT (Deadline to order is September 1, 2014).

4. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SUBSTANCE ABUSE AWARENESS POSTER CONTEST Program Deadlines  September 1, 2014 – Deadline for councils to order poster contest kit from Supreme  January 31, 2015 - Deadline for councils to submit their winning entries to the Diocesan Administrator  January 31, 2015 – Deadline for councils to submit Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest Participation Form 4001 to Supreme AND the State Youth Director  February 28, 2015 - Deadline for Diocesan Administrators to submit winning entries to State Youth Director  March 28, 2015 - State Poster Contest in Houma Awards First Place winners at the Diocesan Level will each receive a plaque 1st Place winners at the state level in each category will receive a plaque and a check for $250.00 2nd Place winners at the state level in each category will receive a certificate and a check for $150.00 3rd Place winners at the state level in each category will receive a certificate and a check for $100.00
