Where to Go Visit a Clinical Psychologist at a School, a hospital, NGO, or a Private Counselling center The Center should be equipped to understand, assess, screen and provide solutions The center should have a remedial teacher History Taking will include the following: IQ Test, Dyslexia Screening Test Check for Hearing and Check the eyes – Sahil’s example

The Importance of Identification To make an early detection To avoid a difficulty to turn into a problem To help the child integrate into the mainstream. To help the family understand the difficulty To get remedial education and support at the right time.

The Importance of Identification The child will come to know why he lacks behind from his peer group To make a child understand why they are not able to perform like others do To help the parents understand the severity of disability To identify and pinpoint the areas for remedial.

Impact If not Detected The higher the grades, the problem will only increase The complaints from school increase The child loses confidence in himself The child may turn to destructive behavior The child loses interest in studies The child loses motivation for studies

Impact If not Detected The child will throw tantrums related to studies The child will develop negative attitudes. Child will not come to know about his strengths and hidden talents. Child will not understand why he faces difficulty in competing with his peers.
