Laws are everywhere.. What are morals ? Morals are a society’s fundamental belief as to what is right or wrong. For example, killing another human is wrong. What are ethics? Ethics are the rules that we live our lives by. They are influenced by our morals. For example, because I believe killing another human is wrong, ethically I do not kill other humans. What does it mean to be immoral or unethical?

Reading Time Read on p. 5 “Law and Values” Be sure to write down the 7 goals we expect our legal system to achieve (on the same paper) Continue reading through p. 8 (stop at problem set 1.3) Write down 4 areas or “values” that our laws can deal with Value #1 – explanation If time permits – complete problem set 1.3 Hand in this paper when you leave!
