My Scenario I was recently shopping at the local grocery store and Was at the customer service counter returning an appliance with my mother, and a woman was there trying to return a bag of opened Halloween candy.

Woman- “I would like to return this bag of candy that I don’t want.”

Cashier- “I'm sorry but we cannot refund you on an opened food item.”

Woman- “That is ridiculous you should be able to get your money back for anything that you buy.”

Cashier- “I’m sorry but our policy states that we cannot refund you.”

Woman- “This is insane I need to see the manager!”

Cashier- “I will get him for you.”

Manager- “What seems to be the problem Ma’am.”

Woman- “That idiot wouldn’t let me return this bag of candy.”

Manager- “Well our policy does say clearly that we don’t accept opened food items and if you don’t calm down I will have to call the authorities.

The woman then after stormed out of the store upset.

What to do. Ask simple polite questions. In doing so be respectful Be slow and sort of monotone
