Start small – don’t try to incorporate too many changes at once. Make sure that you have support form Senior Leadership Investigate budget options Don’t let one or two people carry the weight of a program. It needs to be a team approach What are your key insights? Our data showed that we were not in a place to try and sustain change. No improvements were evident yet.

Financial Barriers (LTC facility and Resident) Family, Staff and Physician Resistance Regional Policies – education on restraint policy MDS Data show variance compared to data we are collecting What are some facilitators? Staff were engaged through Provincial Falls Collaborative Management and Senior Leader Support Ministry Target to decrease falls by 20% Challenges to Sustaining Falls Improvement
