2. कौन-सी फ़िल्म सबसे अच्छी है? Which film is the best? Go round the class asking people what the best film is. Replies should take the form: मुझको डॉन फ़िल्म सबसे पसंद है। I like ‘Don’ the best. etc. Make a note of their replies and we will then share with class what we think the best movies are.

4. उम्र के बारे में concerning age तुम्हारी उम्र क्या है? How old are you? मेरी उम्र बीस साल की है। I am 20.(lit. ‘My ages is of 20 years.’) alternately मैं इक्कीस साल का हूँ। I am 21 years old. (for a man) मैं बाइस साल की हूँ। I am 22 years old. (for a woman)

5. तुम्हारी उम्र क्या है? How old are you? We will ask some of you to tell us your age, as above then you reply: मेरी उम्र बीस साल की है। you may need to know: अठारह, उन्नीस, बीस, इक्कीस, बाईस, तेइस, चौबीस,

6. मेरी उम्र बीस साल की है Activity: write down your own age and those of your family members, i.e. मेरी उम्र... मेरे पिताजी की उम्र... मेरी माताजी की उम्र... मेरे बड़े भाई की उम्र... मेरी छोटी बहन की उम्र...

7. अवकाश आराम कीजिए। चाय पीजिए।

8. पुराना vs बूढ़ा वे मेरे पुराने दोस्त हैं। He is my old friend वे मेरे बूढ़े दोस्त हैं। He is my aged friend take care! वे बूढ़े आदमी हैं। He is an aged man. वह बुरा आदमी है। He is a bad man.

9. Spelling quiz We will say ten words for you to write in Hindi and English If you get all ten right, well done If you get less right. Review how you are learning vocabulary. Consider working with a study-buddy making up flashcards writing out what is in some of the *.mp3s

10. नया, नए, नई नया ‘new’ has three forms (which is normal), but note their spelling: i.e. आपका नया फ़ोन है बहुत बढ़िया है। Your new phone is very excellent. आपके नए कपड़े बहुत सुंदर हैं। Your new clothes are very beautiful. आपकी नई घड़ी बहुत महँगी है। Your new watch is very expensive.

11. मेरा फ़ॉन बिल्कुल नया है। My phone is brand new. Work in pairs, find out how old each others phones are. आपका फ़ोन कितना पुराना है? How old is your phone? Write answers on the model उसका फ़ोन तीन साल पुराना है etc. Prepare to report to class.

12. हमारे परिवारों के बारे में बड़ों को आदर देना show respect to elders, so मेरे बड़े भाई my elder (‘big’) brother Describe the ages of your siblings to you, or your parents to each other etc. i.e. मेरे बड़े भाई मुझसे दो साल बड़े हैं। My big brother is two years older than me. Write down a sentence about each family member, and be prepared to share with class.
