1 Welcome to Day #9 Today we are going to talk about: Being a Good Citizen Civic Responsibility Citizenship Grades

2  Make the right choice – even if no one else knows.  Who you are is what you do when no one else is looking.  Do the right thing because it’s the right thing - not because you will get rewarded, or you’ll get in trouble if you don’t.  Always choose to be your BEST self.

4 …is to tell a teacher or other adult on campus if you see something that should not be present on campus. …is to let someone in authority know if anyone in school is in danger. …is to make sure that you are not doing something that could cause harm. …is to do everything in your power to make the situation better.

5 Citizenship Grading E = Excellent G = Good S = Satisfactory N = Needs Improvement U = Unsatisfactory

6 E = Excellent  The class is better because this student is in it!  Always cooperates  Completes work on time  Assumes responsibility  Is courteous and trustworthy  Accepts correction in good spirit  Never tardy or truant  Cares for school property  Abides by the dress code  Is ready for class with equipment & homework

7 G = Good  Contributes to a positive classroom atmosphere  Is courteous  Completes work on time  Meets all or most of the requirements of the class  Is on time to class daily and absences are excused  Cooperates during group activities  Is ready for class with assignments & equipment  Abides by the school dress code

8 S = Satisfactory  Generally cooperative  Completes work on time  Is usually courteous  Is on time to class  Attends school regularly  Shows self-control and self-discipline, accepts correction in the right spirit  May need correction, but conforms when directed by the teacher  Needs to be reminded of responsibilities  Abides by the school dress code

9 N = Needs Improvement  At times hinders the progress of the class  Lacks courtesy and is not dependable at times  Irregular attendance, has unexcused absences, and sometimes comes late to class  Frequently needs supervision  Lacks self-discipline  Often talkative and inattentive  Does not consistently follow the dress code

10 U = Unsatisfactory  Unacceptable behavior patterns  Causes class disruptions  Rude or uncooperative  Needs constant supervision due to lack of self-control  Misuses or destroys the property of others  Is habitually truant or tardy  Does not accept correction  Has been insolent or defiant  More than one referral to the office  Does not consistently follow the school dress code
