2 Genetic Terms Cornell style notes SNB 43 1. Dominant - Allele represented by the upper case letter. Only one dominant allele is needed to produce the trait. 2. Recessive - Allele represented by a lower case letter. Two recessive alleles are needed to produce the trait.
