2. I grew up on a ranch called Mulcock Ranch. It’s located on highway 82 between mile marker 51 and 50. It’s about 2 hours east of Las Cruces. The Penasco River runs through the ranch. It has a water temperature of about 59 degrees during the summer. Also on the ranch exists an apple orchard and Rainbow trout fisheries.

3. On Mulcock Ranch you can expect the unexpected. While camping out by the river, friendly deer, cows or horses will come by to pay a visit. Also, if in luck you can encounter a white and black smelly friend who is strolling along looking for dinner.

4. The orchard consists of Red Delicious, Granny Smith and McIntosh apples. There's also a peach, pear and plum tree. During the summer you can spend plenty of time picking these fruits to bake wonderful desserts.

5. In the fisheries, plenty of small Rainbow or Brown Trout are brought from Dexter, NM to be raised and later released into the Penasco River. By doing so the formation of the Penasco Spring River Fly Fishing Club was created. This club consists of “catch and release” allowing great experiences for the members.
