3. Adjustment to new issues… Open-House Public Meetings For EA/EIS projects and higher level CE’s Allow opportunity for public to hear comments from the public. Public Open mic/comment period. Format PM can provide a short formal presentation. PM can provide answers to comments or simply have a public “comment” period.

Advertisement must present times for presentation and comment period Public sign-in to speak Public may present for 3-5 min. depending upon # of sign-ups A record of all comments must be produced (mtg minutes). Not necessary for a court recorder to be present unless it’s an official pubic hearing.

6. Next Steps… ODOT is developing training to better ensure we all have the tools needed to best engage the public. Additional focus on EJ issues and public out- reach… (USEPA and FHWA is leading this effort) Updating ODOT’s PI manual… ODOT will be working to ensure we are reaching out to the public and getting them involved in the process.
