Over half of the worlds population live on less than $2.50 per day. At least 80% live on less than $10 a day. There are over 1 billion people who Can’t sign their own name. Of 2.2 billion children 1 billion live in poverty. 41 countries have less money than the 7 richest people in the world.

Start with the most important Once you have done this, write a sub title ‘Quality of Life’ and write down your list.

Development - Key Words LEDC – Less economically developed country MEDC – More economically developed country Development – A process of change which improves the quality of life for people.

How could we rank countries? Try and think of at least three ways we could rank one country over another. E.g. Amount of doctors a country has.

Money per person (GDP per person) How many babies are born and the amount that survive. How long people live. Health This is measured in population per doctor. Literacy Rate The number of adults who read and write in every 100. Food Intake The number of calories each person takes in each day. Development Indicators
