Name of Artifact: Why I want to teach PowerPoint Date: March 6, 2014 Course: EDUC 101 Brief description: For this assignment, I developed a PowerPoint on why I want to teach. This includes reasons for wanting to teach, traits of an effective teacher, educational philosophy, student’s characteristics, community characteristics, contributions to the profession, and teacher quotes. Rationale: To document my understanding of Standard #9, Planning for Instruction, I selected to include Why I want to teach PowerPoint because this assignment demonstrates my ability to evaluate the effects my choices and actions will have on others. This assignment demonstrates my ability to use my past an d present learning experiences and tell how they will effect my future.

Reasons for wanting to teach
I want to teach because I love To Help children achieve their best. celebrate student success. Teaching and learning from the students. Being a positive influence for a student.

The community were I want to work should be a diverse community a community where teachers, students, and parents feel safe. a community where teachers are fair, knowledgeable, unbiased, willing to help, respected, dependable, and easily approached.

Contributions to the profession
My contributions to the profession will be… I will look at students individual needs and help them achieve their particular best. I will communicate with students, parents, and teachers in my community honestly. I will strive to be the best teacher I can be.
