1 Poderator is an online resource for authoring XML files required to host a podcast off of any Server. This tutorial is designed to walk you through the process of authoring an XML feed file using the online Poderator resource. To get started, visit http://www.poderator.com and click “Register”. Registration is free.http://www.poderator.com

2 This is the online registration page for Poderator. Use the form above to create an account.

3 To create a new XML feed file to accompany the media portion of your podcast, select “Add a New Show” from the drop-down menu next to “My Shows”. Note: Poderator keeps track of your previous podcasts.

4 Using this form, input all required fields. NOTE: The data you provide here MUST match EXACTLY the metadata you attached to your audio file when exporting in Audacity.

5 When all fields are complete, scroll to the bottom of this page and click “Save Details and Continue”.

6 Input episode details on this form.

7 Input the URL of the host server. URL format will be as follows: http://www.URLname.extension/FolderName/FileName.FileFormat e.g. http://www.thecsme.org/podcast/test.mp3http://www.thecsme.org/podcast/test.mp3

8 Specify the file format, and the exact size of the file in bytes.

9 When all required data has been entered, scroll to bottom of page and select Save Details and Continue. If you have entered all required information correctly, a new button will then appear marked “Publish Your XML Feed”. Click it.

10 Poderator has now created the XML file you will need for your podcast. To download the file to your computer, click the link “Download my XML Feed”. Save the file to a location where you will be able to find it. The XML portion of your podcast has now been completed for you thanks to this free online resourse.
