Legal Definition as defined by the government or government body According to the Bureau of Statistics the aged are classified as people who have lived or existed for 65 years or longer. Australia ’ s ageing population is spread across an age span of 30-40 years. People in this group will have varying physical and mental capabilities.

Social Definition as defined by society’s perception and attitudes Old people who are nearing the end of human life, they are usually retired and rely on government support and other for help Terms or stereotypes used to describe the aged are elderly, old, senile, advanced adult, senior citizen, granny, pensioner

Strategies to Resolve Conflict ConflictProposed Strategies The aged are a burden on society: Better nursing home facilities to give the aged a safe place to live and people to take care of their needs and wants, and their well- being. Develop support groups, to assist in health care. Provide counselling services for the aged, for their emotional health.
