Paragraphs, pictures, maps, charts; titles and subtitles

3 Public Document – Joint Resolution  Treatment – primary source; document from Congress; published to inform the public; formal tone; no bias;  Scope – very specific; Gulf of Tonkin Resolution;  Organization – first paragraphs are the reasons or events that lead to the resolution; 2 nd half was the effect of these causes – cause –effect organization

4 Letter from Congress  Treatment – primary source; reveals the writers thoughts; a lot of BIAS! Expresses that he wishes the war would end;  Scope – (intended for a specific person) about the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution– this letter is a response to a veteran's letter to his Congressman – specific to the veteran’s letter  Organization – formal letter format with header and all letter format parts
