History of Mercury Who discovered Mercury? Mercury has been observed for thousands of years, and I believe the Babylonians are credited with mentioning it in writing for the first time in some 3000 years ago or so. We do not know the name of the individual who first discovered it, just as we do not know the name of the man/woman who invented the wheel.

Meaning of Mercury In astronomical mythology, Mercury was the Roman version of the god Hermes. He was the messenger for the other gods, and for this reason Mercury is often depicted in pictures with winged sandals. In addition to delivering messages, he was also the protector of travelers, and merchants.

The picture of Mercury This 2 pictures are Mercury. But, unfortunately discoverer is unknown still.

In solar system Order from the sun: 1 st !!!!! The symbol of Mercury Distance from the sun 0.39AU 579000000 kilometers It takes 88days to orbit the sun It’s perihelion (closest distance)is 45 million km and Aphelion is 69.7million km 1 day is 1416h

What is it made of? Mercury is made by… Mercury is a rocky planet with a huge iron core which makes up a large part of it’s interior. The core takes up nearly 3/4 of the planet's diameter. Mercury's iron core is about the size of the moon. Iron makes up about 70% of Mercury's total weight making Mercury the most iron-rich planet in the solar system. On top of this core, lies an outer, rocky shell which is about 350 miles (~550 km) thick.

Planet measurement Mass: 3.30e23 kg Volume:60,827,200,000 km3 Equatorial Circumference:2,439.7 km Mean Density:5.427 g/cm3 Gravity:0.38 of earth Diameter: 4,880km If you weighed 100lbs. on Earth, how much would you weigh on your planet? 38.46Ibs Temperature ranges 100k to 700k equator.

The temperature on Mercury The highest surface temperature on mercury is 660`c and lowest temperature on mercury was -200`c. Mercury is a planet that has big difference on temperature as well. This happens, because of the sun. The area that expose to the sun will be very hot, but other side will be freezing, because there is no atmosphere to keep hotness or coldness. It is similar circumstances with reason of night and day in the earth.
9
There is no atmosphere, so there is no weather also. There is no major gases, Because of low pressure(the surface pressure is 761.84mm Hg).Minor gases are ‘helium, Oxygen, hydrogen and Sodium. Surface Conditions: Wind speeds: The wind speed on Mercury is zero. Mercury has no atmosphere, and that makes it impossible for there to be wind. Wind is the movement of atmospheric gas (air). The only wind on Mercury is the solar wind, and most of that is deflected by Mercury's magnetic field The atmosphere in mercury

Planet composition It looks like core is almost Surface has always craters. I think it Taking the whole composition. Disturbs asteroids way.
11
Exploration There are no probes or satellites sent there. Because it’s too hot and cold. Also, too far away from here. Habitability They will ruin the planet, after periods like on earth. But I don’t think they are able to live or build some construction, because of too weak gravity and big temperature differences between daytime and night. So, they might need very high technology and so on.
