What does the word grow mean? (to be bigger) We are going to go around the room and take turns saying one thing that grows. You name a kind of plant or animal.

A baby grows. A pumpkin tree grows. An elephant grows. A tadpole grows A giraffe grows. There are many things that grow. We are going to learn how plants today and how they grow.

What did you see when you looked at the plants? They are alive, green, healthy, in soil, have leaves.

How a Plant Grows First, a seed is put in the soil. It needs water and sun to grow.

Next, the roots grow.

Then, the leaves grow.

Last, the plant pushes up into the air. Shoot up into the air.

Answer: 1.A plant needs sun and water to grow. 2. If a plant does not get water it will not live. 3. First, a seed is put in soil. Next its roots grow. Then, the leaves grow. Last the plant pushes into the air.
