English IV August 15, 2013 Bellringer: Bellringer: Conciseness continued: Pick up the ACT Style Passage from the shelf in front of room. Complete 117-121. You do not need to read the passage. Keep in mind that sometimes the most concise answer doesn’t require you to rewrite but just to remove words. Do not keep the copy of the passage return it to the shelf. ACT English Test Rules of Engagement Keep these Notes Test Taking Strategies: Never spend too much time on the hard ones (each question is only worth a pt.) There are 5 NONFICTION passages written on a 9 th grade level. You CAN read these. There is NO penalty for guessing. On the English Test, the simplest (shortest) answer is right a lot of the time.
