Schedule Built around the Ensembles Ensembles elected as Major or Minor Meet 2 – 6 days per 6 day cycle, depending upon major or minor Majors will rehearse with different students, depending upon elective

Course Offerings 3 curricular bands Auditions for Wind ensemble- 4-6 times a cycle Symphonic Band- taught twice a day- music major- 4-6 times Concert band- music minor- 2 times Depends what you can fit into your schedule if you are in symphonic or concert.

Electives Three levels of music theory meets every day (fundamental, theory and AP) –Solo performance class (2 times/cycle)- mainly for kids who take private lessons to perform in a critiquing way (average class size is 15- 3 classes) 5 practice rooms

Electives cont. Music careers- (2 times/cycle) for students who are thinking about going into a music career to find out what it is like- broadening it to include more technology based careers Music technology 1 & 2 (minors 2 times/cycle)

Electives cont. Audio engineering (2 times/cycle) midi sequencing Contemporary music- (2 times/cycle) appreciation course –Comprehensive music technology (6 times/year)- technology ensemble class- arranging and sequencing tunes- performed at the concert- live performance with laptops sometimes. The performance is the final project Finale and Logic (sequencing)

Extra Curricular Groups Chorus rehearses from 3-5 pm Chamber strings Chamber singers (40) 2 times week, concert choir (80), ambassadors (jazz vocal) (18) 2 times week Marching Knights Brass Ensemble Jazz band

Extra Curricular Groups Pitt orchestra (spring only) two times a week More of a conflict with theater- schedules to make sure that they can participate in more than one group

Doublers Separate registration Students decide which group is there major and which is their minor (band 4 days/ chorus 2 days or vice versa)

Concerts 2 district concerts- orchestra & chorus and extra one for chorus which is an invitational with a few other high schools –3 concerts for band- an extra one in December, January and the Spring wind ensemble has an extra concert
