How to make chocolate chip cookies By Rose Savage

Materials Oven Large mixing bowl Medium mixing bowl Spoon Spatula 2 1/4 - 2 1/3 cups flour 1 Tsp. salt 1 Tsp. baking soda 1 Cup shortening or 1 Cup (2 sticks) butter 1/2 - 3/4 Cup packed brown sugar (total sugar should equal 1.5 cups) 3/4 - 1 Cup white sugar (total sugar should equal 1.5 cups) 1 - 2 Tsp. pure vanilla 2 eggs 1 1/2 - 3 Cups chocolate chips

Steps First you have to preheat the oven to 350ºF. In the medium bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Then mix these together. In the large bowl, beat together shortening, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla. After that, add eggs and mix. Then combine the wet and dry ingredients and stir until combined.

Add chocolate chips. Scoop up a golf ball size amount of dough with a spoon and drop in onto a cookie sheet. Put the cookies in the oven and bake for about 8-10 minutes. Using a spatula, lift cookies off onto wax paper or tin foil. Let cool for about 5 more minutes. Eat and Enjoy!!

Remember to grease the pan. Make sure not to leave the cookies in for to long, or they will burn! Also make sure not to add too many chocolate chips in the dough.
