2 Definition Bullying is intentional aggressive behavior which consists of two key components: repeated harmful acts and an imbalance of power or strength. It occurs when a person is repeatedly exposed to negative actions over a period of time. bullying creates an intimidating, threatening, or abusive educational environment.

Verbal Bullying : when one uses words to gain power over another WHAT IS BULLYING WHAT IS NOT BULLYING Repetitive:  • Insults • Racist remarks • Threats or intimidation • Taunting • Teasing • Name-calling • Arguments • Expressing unpleasant thoughts or feelings about another person • Telling a single joke about someone • Being bossy • Not liking someone • Being excluded

4 Physical Bullying : when a victim is targeted repeatedly with intention to hurt, embarrass, or intimidate WHAT IS BULLYING WHAT IS NOT BULLYING Multiple Occurrences of: • Hitting • Pushing • Tripping • Slapping • Spitting • Stealing or destroying possessions or lunch money • Sexual harassment • Accidentally Bumping into someone • Isolated acts of harassment, aggressive behavior, intimidation or meanness  • Single acts of the listed examples 

5 Cyber-bullying: WHAT IS BULLYING WHAT IS NOT BULLYING
when one uses information and communication technologies (cell phones, computers, social media, websites) to conduct repetitive, deliberate, harmful and hostile behavior. [1] WHAT IS BULLYING WHAT IS NOT BULLYING • Spreading rumors about a person via social media • Harassing s & text messages • Posting of pictures/videos with intent to embarrass • Consensually and actively participating in arguments or discussions via the use of information and communication • Isolated comments, jokes, or insults made through electronic means that if said in person would not constitute a pattern of conduct sufficient to constitute bullying Cyberbullying.org – includes the first formal definition of cyberbullying by Bill Belsey. 6 Social Bullying : when the repeated actions of a person or group are intended to hurt someone's feelings, reputation or relationships WHAT IS BULLYING WHAT IS NOT BULLYING MULTIPLE Occurrences of: • Leaving someone out of an activity with the specific intent to humiliate or embarrass • Telling others not to be friends with someone • Spreading rumors about someone • Embarrassing someone in public • Equal and active engagement of all parties involved in threatening, belittling, or humiliating behaviors
