War = disturbing and destructive
Life is short – enjoy it!!!!!!!

4. 1920s - Government Immigration quotas – keep undesirable people out
Isolationist policies – worry about ourselves not the rest of the world
Pro-business Republican presidents Harding and Coolidge – laissez-faire

5. 1920s - Society Threat of communism – “Will they take over?”
Fear of immigrants
Fear of labor movement – “I do not like their radical ideas!”

6. 1920s - Technology Growth of automobile industry
Airlines as transportation
Widespread use of electricity
Advertising increases

8. 1920s – Economy Increased standards of living
Buying on credit – installment plans
Superficial prosperity – People bought more than they could afford by using credit.
