Animal Welfare Humane treatment of animals A human responsibility that includes consideration for all aspects of animals well being Most animal producers and researchers believe in animal welfare, support animal nutrition and oppose cruel treatment of animals

Animal Welfare Scientific information should be the basis for decisions, laws and regulations related to animal welfare It is difficult to assess animal comfort and well-being because they do not talk and there are no universally accepted measures to use

Animal Rights Although animal rights advocates approach the issue from different philosophical positions, they argue, broadly speaking, that animals should no longer be regarded as property, or used as food, clothing, research subjects, or entertainment, but should instead be regarded as legal persons and members of the moral community

Animal Rights Animals should not be used for human use PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is one of the most well known animal rights organizations

When did it all begin? The issue of animal rights and moral issues related to animals such as livestock and poultry dates back thousand of years to the ancient Greeks
