Create a password, and make sure to write down both your username and your password someplace safe for future use.

New (unread) e-mails will turn “inbox” the color red and the number in parenthesis tells you how many new e-mails you have

The tab at the top of the page will also let you know how many new e-mails you have (3)

This list in the center of the page is probably the easiest way to tell you have new e-mail– the items that are bold are the ones that have not been opened yet
