Overview of Primary MSTI Initiatives 6. Monetary support for candidates (stipends, scholarships) 7. Other support for candidates (e.g., seminars, tutoring, on-going advising) 8. Course improvements (e.g., revise curriculum, update technology and equipment) 9. Support for tenure-line faculty (e.g., travel, supplies, research resources) 10. Support for graduate students (e.g. research with math education faculty, seminars)

Specialized Content Courses for Mathematics Teachers–Benefits Provides alternative sequence for 32 units needed for Subject Matter Authorization Includes content needed for CSET exams Explores content in ways appropriate for teaching secondary mathematics (e.g., focus on concepts) Models/examines some teaching strategies for middle school mathematics (e.g., integrate technology and cooperative projects)
