L ETTERS OF R ECOMMENDATION Plan Ahead – Determine if college/scholarship requires one Consider asking people who know you in various capacities Provide writer 3 week window for writer to write letter If counselor is writing a recommendation, make appointment for interview 3 weeks prior to deadline Provide activities checklist (resume) to the writer Provide writer pertinent information about college/scholarship Be respectful of writers timeline Follow-up with a thank you to individual who wrote recommendation(s)

School Reports AND Scholarship Applications Give to secretary in STUDENT SUPPORT CENTER with a pre-addressed envelope and correct postage Make an appointment to see your counselor if you need your counselor to write a recommendation Counselor will complete school portion Allow three weeks turnaround time

Senior Meetings All seniors will meet with their counselor within the next month via small groups Meeting schedule will be posted outside the Counseling Office Students will receive additional information, complete a credit check, 2 nd semester requests, etc.
