1 www.unisdr.org 1 Roadmap Purpose: Establish a process for developing an integrated Pacific regional strategy for Disaster Risk Management, Climate Change Outputs –Integrated regional strategy for DRM and CC –Case studies in DRM and CC –Regional Synthesis Report on progress of RFA and PIFACC implementation by 2015 +

2 www.unisdr.org 2 Principles –‘Inclusion’ of as many stakeholder interests as possible in the formulation of the integrated regional strategy. –‘Leadership’ by PICTs in defining the parameters and focus of the new strategy –‘Ownership’ by PICTs and supporting partner organisations to ensure a sustainable approach to the implementation of the new strategy –Simplicity and efficiency’ in terms of the approach and specific steps to be undertaken in deriving the desired outcome –Transparency and accountability in that the process must be clear to all involved and that there should be regular reporting of progress as implementation unfolds
