2. . The spectacled bear got its name by its look. Around his/her eyes it looks like it could be wearing spectacles. The bears make there habitat in Andes witch are the mountains in Peru witch is in south America. The spectacled bear I think is an amazing bear.

3.  The Spectacled bear has excellent eyesight. I’m thinking that it is those spectacles working. The bear can use its eyesight to find its prays so then it has something to eat. And they can see if something is dead and they could eat that dead animal that it has found or killed.

4. The bear is endangered because its habitat loss. There are only 2000 to 2400. People should start trying to build habitats for the spectacled bear. It would be nice if we could have them living in 20 to 30 years so we could still have a lot of animals in the world.

5. Breeding season is usually around April through June. During this time the bears usually stay together for a couple of weeks. Females are capable of planning there labor and pregnancy.

6. The babies Usually one or two babies are born from November through February. They weigh 10 to 18 ounces and have their eyes closed for the first month. The cubs stay with their mother for 6 to 8 months.

7. Characteristics The spectacled bear is the largest mammals in south America. The spectacled bear is five to six feet in length and stands about 30 inches high when on all fours. They usually weigh 175 to 275 pounds. Some of them can weigh 400 pounds. Sows are 30% to 40% smaller then boars. The bears fur is usually black. But some people have seen it in a brownish reddish tone. The fur covering some parts of there body is a creamy white. They have long claws to climb.
