Cayuse 424 The Cayuse424 system REPLACES the downloadable PureEdge forms No transfer of proposals from PureEdge to Cayuse is possible

Cayuse 424 Download funding opportunities (i.e. forms) Store data and files (e.g. contact info, biosketches) Prepare applications Check for errors (including ALL NIH validations) Route paperwork for internal approvals * Submit proposal to Grants.gov Download reports about submissions * Anticipated implementation June 2008

Cayuse 424 Access to this system is limited to: Yeshiva University Faculty (Currently, anyone with an NIH Commons account has been made a user) Research administrators/assistants (Staff working in proposal preparation and grant administration as determined by departmental administrators or faculty members) Central administration (Deans Office, Office of Grant Support, Grant Accounting) [In the future, it may be necessary to grant access to non-YU individuals to enable collaborative work.]

Cayuse 424 Two general types of data are stored: Profiles (Individuals, Institutions) Proposals

Cayuse 424 Access to ALL profiles and proposals is determined by the creator by setting PERMISSIONS e.g. List, Read, Write, Attach, Print Delete, Change Permissions

Cayuse 424 The first time you use the system: 1)Change your password 2)Confirm that you have a profile and that the profile is linked to your user name 3)Confirm that your profile has the correct institutional association 4)IF you are a faculty member, confirm that your eRA role is “PI” and add an “Appointment Type” (e.g. insert “12” in calendar months) 5)Click “SignOut” in upper right corner when finishing work!
