Nouns Nouns are very easy to spot. A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing, or idea. Any object that you can see is a noun; concepts, such as love or hate, are also nouns. Nouns can be classified as common or proper, concrete or abstract, and collective.common or properconcrete or abstractcollective An easy way to determine if a word is a noun that works most of the time is to add an a or the to it. (the vision, an apple, the turn)
