5 Food Bank Program Farm to Kids  Provides fresh fruits and vegetables to low-income after school programs.  Added nutrition education component in collaboration with UC Cooperative Extension and Harvest of the Month

7 Farmers’ Market EBT Project  African American Advocacy group - brought low-income residents to farmers’ market to show how to use EBT to purchase produce

8 Asian Grocery Store  Already had an interest to improve the health of their customers by offering cooking demos and supporting youth group  Nutrition education classes on Saturday morning for 165 shoppers and 30 youth.

9 Farm to Families  Sponsored by: Kaiser Permanente and Leaven Group  Pilot project at low-income apartment complex: had physical activity, health screenings, cooking demos, 5 lbs produce, school supplies and cookbooks

10 EBT Farmers’ Market Workgroup  Established workgroup to promote using EBT at farmers’ markets  Advertised throughout the county  Provided $5 incentive, when EBT used  Pacific Growers Farmers Market Association – hired Americorps volunteer to do cooking demos at farmers’ markets and food stamp offices

11 Cooking Demos  Food pantries, afterschool programs, and family resource centers
