RACING LOTS OF PEOPLE RACE IF IT’S FOR FUN OR A JOB Racing started soon after the first good gasoline-fuelled cars. The first race organized was on April 28, 1887 by the main editor of Paris publication Le Velocipede, Monsieur Fossier. It was 2 kilometres from Neuily Bridge to the Bois de Boulogne. Georges Bouton won it in a car he had built, but he was the only racer to come so it was not really a race. some racing is done with GT (grand tourers)which are based on road cars, or sports prototypes which are especially made for the race track.GTsports prototypes The best-known type of single-seater racing, Formula one. In single-seater, the wheels are not covered, and the cars often have aerofoil wings front and rear to produce down force and help it stay on the track. There are lots of different race tracks like Bathurst 1000 a 1,000-kilometre touring car race. And the 24 hour le mans race at the Silverstone track
