Recent Meetings The subcommittee met on 13 January 2014 The topics discussed at this meeting include: Standardizing terminology: share, submit, publish, datasheet Standards, specifications, and guidelines document updates Changes to the National Flood Insurance program and associated elevation needs Some of the outcomes arising from this meeting include: Larry Hothem gave us a briefing on international standards activities We documented our rationale for the selection of geodetic control theme datasets Began to execute our plan to update standards documents

Recent Developments/Projects Geopotential Datum GRAV-D: ~35% done Geoid Slope Validation Survey in Iowa underway. GRAV-D status, May 2014 Green: Available Blue: Data being processed Orange: Data collection underway White: Planned for data collection

Recent Developments/Projects FGDC Geospatial Positioning Accuracy Standards suite NGS is updating two of the 5 parts Part 1: reporting methodology Part 2: standards for geodetic networks To ensure consistency among the parts, we may have some input to Part 3 (National Standard for Spatial Data Accuracy) too. Who should we work with if we have updates to Part 3, which is maintained by the USGS?

Next Meeting 24 July 2014 in Silver Spring, MD and via phone and Web Some of the topics to be discussed at the next meeting include: Photo-identifiable control points ISO registry of geodetic codes and parameters

Next Steps In the coming months, the FGCS plans to: Continue to prepare for the new geometric and geopotential datums. Execute our plan to update standards documents.
