1 Lesson Plan for SD 1.1 and 1.2, Part 1 (50 minutes): Target: I can define vocabulary related to angles (right, acute, obtuse, straight). 8 minutesWarm-up: Factors of 360 (may need to review what is a factor) 10 minutesClasswork A-D: sorting and sketching triangles (with groups) 5 minutesCome together to go over groups/characteristics and examples of sketches. 10 minutesAdd to Vocabulary to Tool Kit Acute triangle/angle, obtuse triangle/angle, right triangle/angle, scalene triangle, isosceles triangle, equilateral triangle, congruent Note: Give students time to sketch examples and practice labeling with marks congruent sides and angles. 10 minutesWork with group to complete Angle Notes with word/number bank. 5 minutesMake sure answers are accurate for Angle Notes. 2 minutesReminders: Homework is a Zaption video on SD 1.2. You will need a ruler and protractor for some homework assignments this unit – make sure you have one at home. This unit is short – expect 3 exit tickets and a test. MathXL – unit readiness is assigned, then follow study plan. Extra Time? Challenge puzzles on angles.

2 Quick Start Expectations 1.Come in and sit quietly. 2.Fill in Learning Log: SD 1.2 Zaption Video 3.Work on Warm-up (notebook): 2. 1. What is the name of our next unit?

4 Begin working on classwork problems A-D. From what you already know, sort the triangles into groups. Can your team NAME all SIX GROUPS of Triangles?
