When something is drawn the same size as its actual size, it is said to be drawn to scale 1:1 Draw the plan view of your pencil sharpener (from above) actual size. – Measure it, do not draw around it!

Working to scale When something is drawn twice its actual size, it is said to be drawn to scale 2:1 Draw the plan view of your pencil sharpener (from above) scale 2:1.

Working to scale When something is drawn half its actual size, it is said to be drawn to scale 1:2 Draw the plan view of your pencil sharpener (from above) at scale 1:2.

Measure one of your classmates to get the following measurements: Floor to waist (use belly button as fixed point) Waist to shoulder Shoulder to top of head Width of head from front Width of shoulders from front Width of waist from front Width of ankles from front Draw a sketch of your classmate at scale 1:25 (divide all real measurements by 25 to get the measurements you should draw).
