Upon its completion the APM/Maersk terminal (Port of LA) would be the sixth largest port in the world (based on size). On average, over 14,000 containers arrive in the port daily. 3 Los Angeles & Long Beach Seaports Approximately 88% of all U.S. trade from Asia enters through the Ports of LA/LB: the vast majority of trade originates from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, with over 80% coming from China alone… LA/LB is the first US port of entry for containers arriving from special interest countries: Malaysia Indonesia Singapore Pakistan Bangladesh India Saudi Arabia UAE Egypt Morocco Ethiopia Somalia
