2 Food! Japanese food culture has centered around rice for over 2,000 years! Rice is traditionally served with fish and seasonal vegetable. The vegetarian style of cooking known as shojin ryori. The three major types of Japanese food culture are Shojin Ryori, which is vegetables only, then there is honzen ryori which is the normal meal and chakaiseki ryori is for special tea ceremonies.

3 Fashion Japanese fashion includes very colorful miss matches. Fashion in Japan is very expensive like U.S.A but a good outfit in Japan is about. 17,000 yen with a haircut and clothing. 17000 yen is equal to about 160 dollars which is pretty expensive for an outfit. Japanese fashion is very different to our normal t shirt and short fashion style.

4 TV Shows! Television broadcasting in Japan started in 1939 making Japan one of the first countries in the world with a television. Japanese Television didn’t start running until the early 1950’s. Japanese TV is a lot more different than what we are used to here in America. Japanese talk shows normally include some sort of challenge. Japanese cartoons (anime) is the equivalent to SpongeBob for us in America.

5 Why This is Important As a nation we have to understand the cultural differences between Japan and the United States of America. Our culture is different from Japan because of our views on society.
