10. How can you tell when a part is Conforming ? Ask to look at the receiving documents What kind of packaging did it come in? Does it have an inspection stamp on it? Ask to look at the Certificate of Conformance (C of C) Ask to see the 8130-3 tags that came with the part Check the part marking (OEM’s may not have any) Parts manufacturing Approval (PMA) FAA/PMA Technical Standard Order (TSO) TSO C171

12. Standard Airworthiness Approvals The FAA has full responsibility for ensuring that each aircraft, at the time an airworthiness certificate is issued, conforms to the type design and is in a condition for safe operation.

13. Standard Airworthiness Approvals A Standard Airworthiness Certificate remains valid as long as maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration are performed in accordance with parts 21, 43, and 91.
