Collab 4/15/04 #2 EDMEDM UCN lifetime measurement Current status of EDM beamline: EDM gate valve, released to shop for fabrication. EDM/UCN switcher, release to shop for fabrication (2) EDM test chamber, moved into Area-B, lid removed for inspection. A Helitran pump has been identified for cooling acrylic trap. A Cryotorr pump and gate valve are available to connect to the test chamber, along with a scroll pump. All other beamline components are in the “design” stage.

Collab 4/15/04 #15 EDMEDM Tasks Needed.... There are a number of tasks needed in order to accept UCNs into the test chamber:. Locate operational Helitran. Finalize length of beam flight path, between test cell/trap and gate valve. Develop design for new simple switch – obtain a 6” Conflat cross. Quartz UCN beam guides with diamond coating. Scroll pump to evacuate test chamber and beamline. Electrical isolation from UCN beamline. Possible additional tasks yet to be defined.....
