Although, Bob Dole doesn’t address the future in the statement, the opponent, Bill Clinton establishes a false image of Dole. He suggested he shows optimism because he looks forward and makes it seem like Dole is a pessimist still dwelling on the past.

5. Straw man fallacy Abigail Williams Danforth. She spoke nothing of lechery, and this man has lied! Hale. I believe him! This girl has always struck me false! She has- Abigail. You will not! Begone! Begone, I say! … Abigail. Look out! She’s coming down! Act III, page 223-226 In this passage the trial transitions from witchcraft to the subject of lechery. Abigail brings us back to the subject of witch craft by mentioning the yellow bird, but she still beats around the bush. Her argument doesn't quite address the opposition.
