2. The Staff
Music is written on a staff. A Staff consists of 5 lines equally spaced.
This is a staff.

The distance between any two lines on a staff is called a space.
How many spaces are there on a staff?
When numbering lines and spaces, always begin with the lowest line or space and count up.

Notes are placed in the lines and in the spaces of the staff to make music.
