25. Stage 1: Slow Growth Population grew very slowly. Many children born, but also many die. Most people are farmers. Growth pattern until the 1700s.

26. Stage 2: Rapid Growth: LDC Hygiene and medical technology increases. Lots of babies being born and less are dying. Population increases dramatically in poor countries. Now reaching poor countries.

27. Stage 3: Slow Growth or No Growth: MDC Population begins to level off. People have less kids as they become wealthier. Kids are no longer an asset. Immigration is often the only reason they see any growth. The U.S. is in Stage 3
