As a young chap… Born on February 7 th, 1478 Big Daddy- Sir John More, the judge Served as a page for archbishop Morton Got smart and went to… –Studied Greek and Latin Literature –Began writing comedies –Tried out Law as well Beheaded on July 6, 1835 Pope John Paul II made him patron saint of civil servants.

About the book Several religions exist in Utopia He actually wrote Book 1 after Book 2. Atheism not tolerated Criminals are enslaved Women can’t marry until 18, men can’t until 22 Divorce allowed only in cases of abuse. No make-up Officials aren't meant to be pushy, or awe- inspiring

Influence Created a whole new genre- Utopian – Also later lead to Anti-Utopian Novels Lead to farther imagination. – Writers began to write not only for entertainment – “Bigger Picture” ideals People began to base lives off of the book – Improving society

Other Works The history of King Henry the Third Many different poems – Most famous of those being A Merry Jest. Other writings on the teachings of the Catholic Church.
