Focuses on how individuals and organisations use, and can be affected by, ICT in their daily lives. Emphasis on the problem-solving stages of design and development.

Focuses on spreadsheets and graphic output. Select data from data sets, design solutions and use a range of spreadsheet functions to develop solutions that meet specific purposes. Data must be provided by teacher and accessed from sources such as BoM, ABS, Melb. Water. Teacher must provide solution requirements, solution constraints and scope of solution. Students use spreadsheet software to manipulate numeric data to produce information in graphic form. Solutions must meet purposes that include to: Inform Educate Persuade Entertain

Focuses on how networked information systems allow data to be exchanged in local and global environments and how mobile devices are used within these networks. Any software.

Recommend a networked information system for a specific use and explain possible security threats to this networked information system. Technology & procedures, and roles & responsibilities of professional people who connect and maintain computers so that information can be shared. Advantages and disadvantages of using networks and use of mobile devices within networks. Security threats to exchanged and stored data and how information can be compromised.

Focuses on how applications of particular ICT causes tensions and conflicts between stakeholders. Considers contemporary issues in the following contexts: computer gaming, social networking, robotics, e-commerce and cloud computing. Spreadsheet software, web authoring software, visualising thinking tools and tools for planning a project.

Contribute collaboratively to the design and development of a website that presents an analysis of a contemporary ICT issue and substantiates the team’s point of view. Student teams create a website that presents an issue and the viewpoints of different stakeholders and the team members, including strategies that influence how ICT is applied in particular situations. Visualising thinking tools and techniques are used to help shape the team’s opinions. Spreadsheet software is used to manipulate primary data and create graphical representations to be included on the website. Project plans must include tasks to be completed and team member responsibilities. Progress is monitored and recorded.

Using ICT tools and techniques, produce a solution in response to an identified need Visual presentations such as multimedia presentations Oral presentations supported by a visual presentation A written report using ICT A testAn electronic learning journal, such as a blog, to record learning process Unit 1 AOS 1AOS 2 AOS 3 AOS 2 AOS 3 AOS 2 Unit 2 AOS 1AOS 3 AOS 2

Defines key terms for all courses within VCE Information Technology. Definitions from other sources often vary – you must know the definitions contained in the Study Design glossary as these are used in developing the end of year examination for Units 3 & 4.
