3 London Ambulance Service NHS Trust Ambulance service workload 5 million 999 calls per year (England) of which: 4 million incidents attended, of which: –One million are potentially life threatened cases –Three million go to hospital But half may not need A&E care Key Groups: –Sick – don’t know why- Older fallers – no injury –Abdominal pains- Minor injuries
