The Italian Renaissance was the period of great cultural change and achievement. It began in the 14 th century. It was the transitional period between Medieval times and modern Europe. There was a renewed interest in science and arts.

Now for the directions…

You will receive one piece of green foam. Using the carving tools, you need to create an interesting non-representational sculpture. It should be a sculpture in the round. You need to dramatically alter the form of the foam block. There needs to be at least one negative space. Edges will need to be rubbed smooth. First and Last name and class period should be scratched in the bottom. You should not use words, numbers, or recognizable symbols. Rinse off dust. If you get foam a bit damp first, this will help with the dust. Directions -
