Regulations require a safe means of access to be provided and maintained to any place of work. Guards or other effective means are required where a person could fall. Scaffolding should be regularly examined by a competent person and records kept Any changes to scaffolding must be carried out by a competent person Do not move scaffold planks from a platform to use elsewhere Part 5 - Working Places and Safe Access General

All working places should have adequate lighting Tool boxes and equipment should be lifted on to a working platform by rope line Any person in control of premises has a responsibility to ensure safe access to work areas and adequate lighting. Report all instances of poor access to your supervisor for forwarding to LEIA. Part 5 - Working Places and Safe Access General

Wherever possible work at height should be avoided by other ways of working. Work in the lift well will normally be on scaffolds and working platforms erected by specialist scaffolders. When in use, scaffolds should be regularly examined, at least every 7 days by a competent person and records kept. Part 5 - Working Places and Safe Access Work at Height

If a scaffold tube has to be removed for your work, it must only be done by a competent scaffolder. Do not move scaffold planks to use elsewhere. Ensure that there is enough scaffold material on site. If the work is not easily accessible, the working platform should be repositioned by a competent scaffolder. Part 5 - Working Places and Safe Access Work at Height

Voids during installation Guardrails should be fitted, at least 950mm high, where there is a risk of falling. Where guardrails, toeboards or barriers are impracticable then safety nets should be provided. Where safety nets are not reasonably practicable the use of anchored work restraint harnesses to prevent reaching the fall hazard may be used. Part 5 - Working Places and Safe Access Work at Height
