3. Our Learning Questions Science – ‘Why are Humans not like Tigers?’  Identifying basic parts of the human body  Senses,  Identifying different animals and categorising according to their diet.  Looking at animals in the local environment.  Seasons – Autumn

4. Our Learning Questions Topic – ‘Who was famous when mum and dad were little?  Significant individuals in the past.  Learning how our lives are different from those who lived in the past.

5. Our Learning Questions Design and Technology - ‘What can be in our fruit salad?’  Naming and describing different fruits and veg..  Tasting different fruits  We will design and make a fruit salad

6. Reading Guided reading will take place daily in small groups. They will receive 2/3 books per week. Please send in the child’s current reading books daily – even if they have not finished.

7. Phonics Daily phonics sessions By the end of Year 1 – Children will have learnt to read and write all letter sounds. This will support reading, writing and spelling.. Phonics and Reading Workshop – Wednesday 7 th October 2pm

8. Homework Set on a Friday Due back following Thursday A Math’s activity – worksheet or ‘nrich’ activity on computer A phonics Activity Spellings relating to the sound the children are learning that week Daily reading – just a few pages!

9. Things to remember… Planners in school everyday, PE – Monday and Thursday (1B and R/1P) Ear rings removed, hair tied back. Please ensure that all P.E. kits and other items of clothing (esp. jumpers and cardigans) are clearly named.
