4 10 Grant Writing Tips 1.Start early! 2.Read the request for applications carefully. Read it again. 3.Contact the Program Officer. (Be prepared). 4.Read successful examples funded by the same program. 5.Find good, tough internal reviewers.

5 10 Grant Writing Tips 6.Write to please tired and stressed reviewers. 7.Aesthetics matter. 8.Get help with your biosketch; use the personal statement to your advantage. 9.Apply to as many funding opportunities as you can (within reason). 10.Embrace failure & rejection.
